Eight graduating seniors have completed the SuperNova Undergraduate Research Fellows Program, demonstrating their commitment to research and related activities throughout their undergraduate careers. This accomplishment required significant dedication, along with reflection on the impact of research on their lives. We’re so proud of their hard work and wish them the best as they take this next step in their lives!
Marley Downes
BS/MS materials science and engineering ’24, honors
Next year, Marley will begin pursuing a PhD in chemistry at the University of Chicago.

Sky Harper

Sky was one of five students selected for a one-year post-baccalaureate program with the Mayo Clinic for preparation to pursue the MD/PhD pathway.
“I don't think there is just one thing I will take from undergraduate research into my future. I am confident that I will be taking all my undergraduate research skills and experiences with me, as I intend to pursue a career revolving around research. From technical skills to soft skills, networks I've cultivated, and an overall critical-thinking mindset, I know that each will be a part of my life.”
Kara Moran

After graduating, Kara will be pursuing an MBA and applying for medical school.
“Resilience! I have learned so much about myself as part of the Honors Program/SuperNova, but I think embracing the journey and learning that rejection is redirection has been especially impactful!”

Lozen will be working full-time in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry while applying for graduate school.
